LED Retrofit – What is it?
Retrofit refers to the addition of new technology or features to older systems. LED retrofit lamps are direct replacements for conventional incandescent, halogen, and compact fluorescent (CFL).
LEDs deliver higher lumens per watt (Lm/W), and significant energy savings while lasting more than ten times longer than incandescent sources. With their directional light, instant on, and ability to dim, LEDs are fast becoming the light source of choice. Property owners have been extremely excited about the development of LED lighting because they can utilize the new technology to significantly lower their energy costs, cut down on replacement bulb costs, and reduce the presence of hazardous gases such as mercury in their respective environments.

Benefits of Switching to LED Lighting

Lower energy costs

Average lifetimes range between 35,000 and 50,000 hours for LED recessed lighting retrofits. That means these lights are going to last anywhere from twelve to seventeen years, even if they are left on for eight hours every day.

Fluorescent light tubes operate by electronically charging gases within the tubes to create illumination. LED light products are RoHS-certified and eliminate the presence of mercury in your environment.

LED lighting products are extremely resistant and have a very long service life. Compared to standard fluorescent lights, which are rated for 10,000 hours, an LED replacement light is rated for 50,000 hours, which is over 16 years under normal 8-hour/day operating conditions.
